Cute Onigiri

Surprised my sister with these onigiri before her birthday dinner. They're so cute and yummy! Can't wait to make them again. Happy weekend everyone! :)

Btw...I'll be taking a little blog break for our upcoming wedding ♥ See you in mid-Jun! I'll have lots to share then! :)

Birthday Girl

We celebrated my sister's birthday this past weekend as well. My sister is extremely busy and I'm so happy whenever she has the time to come home and visit. I made her favorite mac and cheese for dinner and this lemon poppy seed cake with fresh strawberry cream cheese glaze for dessert. We (and our bellies) were very happy by the end of the night :)

*Special thanks to Dana for the lovely birthday flowers too!

Special Delivery

I matched with the bouquet I bought for my mom (totally coincidental btw) :) Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day. Thanks to my sis for taking this lovely photo for me!

I picked rich vibrant colors for my mom :)

These beautiful flowers were from Bumble Bee Landing. I wish Dana's shop is closer to where I live so that can buy pretty flowers from her all the time! I'm so lucky that she's doing our wedding flowers. I can't wait to see my bouquet!

Bright happy colors for James' mom

Love's In The Air

I am so excited to share our engagement photos! We had such a fun time taking them all thanks to our wonderful photographer Ned :) As you know, photos are extremely important to me. The first thing I did after we got engaged was to look for a photographer. The search was quite daunting. I must have looked at a hundred websites before I found Ned's. Once I saw his blog, I knew. His photos are so natural and simply beautiful. He captures all the joys and emotions of the day and it makes me feel like I was there. I contacted him at the end of 2010 and meeting him was truly icing on the cake. He is so nice! We met up again last month (I can't believe it has been over a year!) at the Boston Public Library to do our engagement session. Ned did an amazing job (Thank you!!!). Here are some of my favorites. (Please excuse all the lovey-doviness ahead hehe.)

James and I love this library. We went there all the time during high school :)

I love the green lamps and architecture of this room.

Hello Kitty Laduree Notebook

Remember when my sister bought me all of those wonderful Hello Kitty stuff at Laduree? Well, this is what was in the fancy green pillow box. The notebook is so pretty. It even came with a sweet little bookmark. I don't know if I have the heart to use it because it's so cute. I think I'll just keep it in its pristine condition until I can find something worthy enough to write in it ;) Here are some more photos of this lovely notebook:

I love all of the Hello Kittys peaking out from behind the macarons :)

I love this illustration so much! Wished they made a notebook with this as the cover too!

Hello Kitty is sitting with a macaron on the corner of every page :)

The last page and the bookmark...so cute!

SoWa's Opening Day

This past Sunday was SoWa's Opening Day! I can't believe this is already my second year as a vendor at this awesome open market. I remember how nervous I was at last year's opening day. Now, James and I are super fast and efficient at setting up the tent and displays :) As always, we had a fun day hanging out, chatting with our customers, and eating yummy foods from the food trucks. Looking forward to the rest of the season!

James caught me by surprise as I was setting up lol

A look at the whole setup

Japanese Spring Festival

I participated in Boston's First Japanese Spring Festival this past Sunday at Copley Square. It was so much fun! The event was very successful. There was a huge turnout with a lot more people than the organizers had anticipated. All of the yummy foods were sold out by 1 PM! Lucky for me, James was able to stand in the long lines to get me mochi and Japanese pancakes :)  The only thing I managed to buy at the end of the event were these small boxes of candies. I bought them because of the cute illustrations on the boxes but the candies were quite good. They were sweet citrusy jelly/gummy candies covered with a thin layer of edible rice paper.

This was the only picture we took right after setting up because it was so busy. There are more pictures here from our local newspaper's website. (Btw, you can see James' tiny head on the far right on page 6 of the article hehe.) I had a great time talking to people who love Japan as much as I do. I am so happy to have the chance to share my photos of Japan and to raise money for a great charity. I hope this festival will become a tradition in Boston!

Here's a picture of my mock setup from the night before. Too bad it didn't end up looking like this because of the strong winds. All of the frames and photos had to stay flat on the table lol.

Mirror, Mirror

This is my recent happy purchase :) It's a Hello Kitty Compact Mirror with cute drawings of Paris all over it. Isn't it so sweet? I love all the little details like the Paris Metro sign, the bicycle with a basket full of baguettes, the Eiffel Tower, and of course the signature pink bow.

There's even a stack of macarons and part of the Notre Dame on the back! Seems like Hello Kitty is really loving Paris lately. It's perfect because I love both so much ♥

One of the many cute shops in Tokyo
My friends are en route to Asia visiting multiple cities including Tokyo and Kyoto. I'm so excited for them. Have a wonderful time Judy, Carrie, and Julie! Can't wait to see photos and hear all about it :)
