Bursting with Success

Happy Lunar New Year! I had so much fun celebrating the Year of the Dragon this past weekend. Nothing beats spending time with the family and having delicious food. I also learned a new fun tidbit from James' mom about these steamed cupcakes. These cupcakes or "faat gou" are always present during New Year celebrations because they represent prosperity and success. The more the cake spreads and blossoms on top, the more prosperous you'll be :) I really love that! Now I know to pick the biggest blooming one lol. Wishing you all a year full of happiness, good health, and great fortune!

  4. Thanks Hannah!

@Cinz: I've always seen them but never knew they had such a fun meaning to them. I'm sure you can find them in HK. They're not too sweet and perfect with a cup of tea. Wishing you a marvelous 2012 too :)

@May: Happy Year of the Dragon! I only see yellow ones around here but pink would be so cute! I've never tried steaming cakes before...maybe I can look for a good recipe and make my own pink ones hehe
